Bush’s Visitor Center is located on Highway 411, east of Sevierville and west of Newport, TN. It is housed in the original 1897 General Store founded by A.J. Bush, and you can learn the Bush Bean story, tour the museum, shop in the gift shop and eat in their cafe.
Jay and Duke host the short film about the Bush family history in Chestnut, TN, and the development of the canning industry. You can walk through the giant Bush Bean can and follow the bean’s journey from the field to the table.
The Bush Family café is known for sweet desserts like their pinto bean pie that tastes just like southern pecan pie! All dishes are homemade and they specialize in Southern food. Once you have finished your meal you owe it to yourself to shop the authentic General Store for old timey items and a variety of Bush Bean items including mini Duke stuffed animals.
The General Store served the surrounding area for nearly 100 years and was reopened in 2010 as part of the Bush’s Welcome Center. The folks will make you feel at home and the food and desserts will bring you back on your next trip to the Smokies.
