In the kitchen at Elviras Cafe on Wears Valley Road on the way to Townsend, Elvira and her friends turn fresh, local ingredients into foods of Southern Tennessee, wraps them up in a bit of Russian heritage, and serves the whole thing up with friendship and love for an unforgettable dining experience.
Elviras Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner (Dinner on Fri & Sat 5 pm – 8:30 pm only.) and Sunday brunch. For breakfast, of course you can get Hotcakes, French Toast and Omelets, but you can also get a Pork Tenderloin Biscuit, Biscuits and Gravy and the Country Benedict, which is an open faced biscuit topped with ham, eggs and sausage gravy. In addition you can order Savory Crepes, made with buckwheat flour and filled with all kinds of goodies like cheese, eggs, mushrooms, meats and vegetables. Or try one of the Sweet Crepes filled with apples, caramel sauces, berry jam, pecans, bananas, Nutella and almonds. Yum-yum!
At lunch Elviras Cafe serves-up BLT’s with locally grown Granger tomatoes, adult-styled Grilled Cheese with Swiss and Havarti cheeses, a Reuben with homemade thousand island dressing, a turkey, ham and smoked cheddar sandwich called the Cove Combo, and a Roasted Turkey Sandwich layered with pesto and avocado. And you can get Chicken Salad, a Cheeseburger, Philly Steak and Café Salad, all with fresh fixin’s.
Elvira’s dinner options all include your choice of two sides with entrees ranging from Pork Chops, Beef Liver & Onions and Beef Tips, to Ham Steak, Fried Catfish, Mountain Trout, Stuffed Portabella Mushroom and their Signature Prime Rib. Then you can top of dinner with a tasty, homemade dessert.
