The Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair feels less like an event and more like a tradition woven into the Smoky Mountains. Recognized by the Southeast Tourism Society as “One of the South’s Most Popular Events,” this long-running celebration of artistry has earned its reputation the old-fashioned way — through quality, creativity, and consistency.

Now celebrating its 51st year, the October show transforms the Gatlinburg Convention Center into a holiday shopping haven for 21 full days. With more than 200 skilled craftspeople from across the country under one roof, it’s the kind of place where you can check off every name on your gift list — and probably find a few treasures for yourself along the way.

What sets this fair apart isn’t just the variety, but the experience. Visitors can watch artisans at work, demonstrating everything from woodworking and pottery to jewelry making and textile arts. It’s an opportunity to see the craftsmanship firsthand, ask questions, and purchase directly from the people who create each piece. That authenticity is part of why artisans from nearly 400 fairs voted this event their 5th All-Time Favorite Fair in the nation.

Tickets are available at both entrances of the Gatlinburg Convention Center. Admission is $12 for adults, and children 17 and under are admitted free with a paid adult. A complimentary multi-day pass is included with photo ID at the office, making it easy to return and explore more than once. With live music performances offered daily, the fair blends shopping, entertainment, and mountain hospitality into one memorable experience.
