You can follow the rainbow over Pigeon Forge to Parrot Mountain and Gardens to enjoy beautiful, exotic birds, lush gardens. Parrot Mountain and Gardens features Toucans, Horn bills, and Magpies flying free in the Secret Garden. Parrot Mountain and Gardens also features over two dozen Parrots and hundreds of tropical birds. Also Parrot Mountain and Gardens also has thousands of flowers, plants and trees. This is all on four gorgeous acres in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

A walk through Parrot Mountain is a joy for young and old. The beauty of the gardens reminds many people of what the Garden of Eden must have looked like. When you arrive you will see a dry stacked stone fence reminiscent of the fences in Ireland. You will also be greeted by the sounds of parrots inviting you to visit them at their parrot cottages. Each parrot cottage has a different and interesting roofline – slate, clay tile, reed and cedar shake to name a few.

Walk into the yellow door and wander through the Secret Garden, where dozens of different birds greet you with song. Parrot Mountain also allows you to feed them from your hand. Enjoy more bird feeding experiences in the lory aviary. In the lory aviary, you can feed nectar from a cup in your hand to the gentle, multicolored lories. Also, for more personal experiences you can sit in the butterfly, peacock, or dragonfly benches by the picturesque waterfall. While sitting on these beautiful benches you will enjoy the soothing sounds of the water.

The baby nursery is also an experience not to be missed as you can pet the babies and watch them being fed. You can even adopt a bird to take home and receive instruction on the care and feeding of your new family member.

As you can see there is a lot to do at Parrot Mountain and Gardens, so plan to spend the day. You can enjoy snacks and food from the Deli, shop in the English style Cottage Gift Store, visit the different statuary and buildings on the grounds, or just sit quietly and meditate or just enjoy the sounds of nature. Bring your friends, family or group to the Gardens or plan an unforgettable wedding in this beautiful and special place in the Smokies.
