Rainforest Adventures Discovery Zoo is situated in the heart of the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Convenient to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge! Rainforest Adventures Zoo is open year-round offering experiences and activities for all ages!

Rainforest Adventures Zoo has been themed by one of the nation’s finest zoological contractors, whose work includes the theming Animal Kingdom at Disney World! Our decorations inspire an wild and adventure filled atmosphere, to help make you feel closer to the animals that we care for.

We are home to hundreds of tropical and temperate animals, where you can see and interact with animals that you would likely see on shows like Animal Plant®, Discovery Channel® and other similar nature shows! The majority of our animals have been born or hatched in captivity but we also feature animals on loan from zoos from all across the United States. Our animals serve the primary purpose of education. We want to offer an experience that is as educational as it is entertaining!

We have exhibits featuring all kinds and types of animals. Our reptile exhibits feature Snakes, Turtles, Tortoises, Crocodiles and others. We have several interesting mammals including Binturong, African Serval, Lemurs, Sugar Gliders and other various cute residents. We also have some beautiful exotic birds for you to learn about and enjoy, including Blue & Gold Macaw, Cocatoos, Parrots, Finches and even a Toucan! If you enjoy creepy-crawlers, don’t miss our bug exhibits! Including Tarantulas, Scorpions, Cockroaches and many more. We also have Frogs, Toads, Bullfrogs, and even AXOLOTLS!
