At only 8 weeks old, Trooper was chosen but abandoned a short time later. In his wondering and being an unsupervised puppy he was hit by a train, resulting in him losing an eye and his hind legs. If you see him walking through grass or tall weeds, you wouldn’t know this lovable pup was missing both his hind legs. All of this happened to Trooper when he was only a couple months old.

Through all of the adversity facing him early in life, Trooper found a loving and supportive family whom he inspired! Trooper and his network of supporters have now turned tragedy into a worthy cause, raising awareness and funds to help animal rescues to continue their life-saving efforts of saving companion animals.

Trooper has excelled at overcoming his challenges, and is described by his family as “just a normal dog who happens to be missing two legs”. It’s certain the it hasn’t slowed Trooper’s efforts to be curious and get into everything!

Trooper rallies his support and has became an icon for the efforts of many animal rescues and organizations dedicated to companion animals. He travels and helps educate and raise awareness of those efforts so that other animals facing similar circumstances and challenges as he did can find those furever families!

This incredible pup will be adventuring to the Smoky Mountains and will soon call Foxfire Adventure Park home! Trooper and his family hope that everyone can give him a big welcome when he arrives and hope to foster and support the same efforts for local area rescues and needs.
